late again!
friday five ::
1. What is your current occupation? Is this what you chose to be doing at this point in your life? Why or why not? Aww – I like to not talk directly about where I work. Now I have to spill the beans! I work for a subscription agent (they work as an intermediary between libraries and publishers of journals to look after the libraries subscriptions). And no – this isntwhere i planned to be. The point is I never really had a plan at all. I just sort of fumble along through my life and most of the time it turns out okay.
2. If time/talent/money were no object, what would your dream occupation be? Hehehe – well when i was a little girl all i wanted to be was famous – didnt care how i was but thats what I wanted. Now I’d just settle for a talent that could potentially make one famous or not – I wish i could either act, sing or play an instrument or draw/paint brilliantly. Screw the fame bit – I just wish I had some talent at any of those.
3. What did/do your parents do for a living? Has this had any influence on your career choices? Both work for the government. My mum works as a civilian in the RAAF and my dad works for the tax office. And no, not really.
4. Have you ever had to choose between having a career and having a family? No.
5. In your opinion, what is the easiest job in the world? What is the hardest? Why? Hmm. I’ve read a couple of other Fives and they have said it probably depends on your perspective, which is true – so lets say from my perspective. Easy – something where you are sitting on your butt doing drudge work and you dont have to talk to anyone other than your immediate supervisor – much like my previous job. Hard – I dont like blood and guts so being a doctor would be bad – but then as you train up you probably grow immune to the gross factor so i dont know. Being in a job where you have to make life or death decisions about things – like agreeing to let a small number of people die to save millions or something. I’d wanna save everyone. What an evil question – I dont know.
