Feed (Newsflesh Trilogy 1) by Mira Grant
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
One of the people on Tumblr had been reading this and posting about how awesome it was. A month or so after that idecided to read it. Now as a horror genre – I am not into zombies AT ALL! But I like some of the recent takes on the genre, and this was definately a good one.
I think a combination of the blogging world, and also the scientific reason explained for the zombie outbreak were the main reasons I enjoyed this.
I did find that things were repeated a few times during the book, but I put it down to the world building going in….I think the author might have thought you forgot things so mentioned it again.
Oh and can I say I was crying my eyes out near the end of the book. If you have read it you will understand. I was so surprised!
Mockingjay (The Hunger Games, Book 3) by Suzanne Collins
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
FINALLY FINISHED!!
Been sporadically jumping in and reading the Hunger Games books but i kept getting distracted by other things. I had read so many spoilers on Tumblr that I mostly knew who lived and died and what not, but I am still annoyed about Prim and Finnick!!! >.<
Overall I liked them. Katniss, I seriously wanted to slap her up the side of the head at times, but what can you do? She wasnt as annoying as Bella. So I guess thats a win. haha
The Iron Duke (A Novel of the Iron Seas)
by Meljean Brook
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I definately liked the world it was set in. One of the better steampunk books I’ve read. And the best that is a steampunk romance book.
But I dont know – I found the Iron Duke himself a little annoying, and also Mina takes forever to explain why she thinks they cant be together and that was bugging me the entire book.
But I was definately fascinated by the world so I do want to read more. 😀
