So yeah – start of October I basically lost the plot and decided I wanted to do something a bit drastic. As well as dying the hair blue, I decided on a whim I was going to go to Vancouver to see Blue October perform.
More piccies under the cut. 😀
My earlier post about Blue October, not sure if I mentioned it, but I only started listening to them in August guys. T.T So yeah – a tad drastic. 😀
I had been checking out their touring dates and thinking I would love to see them live, then I noticed the Vancouver date and was all ‘i know vancouver…i wouldnt have to figure out a new city/country going to vancouver’. I went to work and asked the boss what are the odds of her giving me a week off work a month hence (even though the team rules stipulate for a week or more we are supposed to give 2 months notice). She said sure as long as it didnt conflict with anyone else. I went home that night and bought tickets to the show and the meet and greet before hand. 😀
Then I was thinking about the time and what I could cram in because when i flew there I would arrive the same day, but when I flew home i would be home 2 days later….so would have had to fly home Friday to get home by Sunday to go to work again Monday…so then I did some more grovelling to ask for 2 more days so I could fly home Sunday night, get home Tuesday and be back at work Wednesday. I LOVE MY BOSS COZ SHE AGREED!!! 😀
ANYWAYS!!! The concert was AWESOME!!!
At the meet and greet – we got to watch them do the sound check – they did Ugly SIde, 18th Floor Balcony (that song always makes me tear up) and James (though without most of the singing – STILL AWESOME!).
Then we lined up to get things signed (i ended up buying Justins book Crazy Making and a poster). Then after that we lined up again for a picture with the band.
I was so nervous at the meet and greet I barely recall what I or anyone said – mainly Justin going Blue Blue Blue at me coz of the blue hair and Ryan i think saying his violins were made in Queensland after I mentioned I was from oz.
This is my official pic from the meet & greet (we werent allowed to take oics during)
The only thing bad about the concert was they didnt play The Feel Again (Stay) which is my favourite song…possibly a good thing coz I probably would have been sobbing my heart out.
Below is the only photo I have where you can see Matt clearly T.T
My goods from the concert – tshirt, Justins book Crazy Making, poster signed by the band, and the meet and greet lanyard thingy! 😀
Other than that I really only did 2 touristy things while I was there.
I walked around most of Stanley Park
(I got to Third Beach and decided to cut back through to downtown via the trails….wasnt the wisest decision…my feet were less than pleased. I wasnt wearing anything close to the right shoes).
I also visited Grouse Mountain!
Sadly only man-made snow, but I got to see the bears Grinder and Coola! And some wolves!!
EDIT – there area few more pics up now Flickr. They are a bit out of order though. Not sure why. I did try to sort them by date taken. Oh well.
I only took my fone to the Blue October show coz my camera is pretty bulky. Good thing the camera is HD. Sadly most of my pics came out a bit blurry. Doesnt help when you have a totally wasted drunk girl standing next to you most of the show bumping into you… T.T
