I moved last Sunday. Finally left the abode of the parentals once more, planning to never return!
My address says its Elizabeth Bay but I am not gonna kid myself – its Kings Cross. Am one street away from the main drag. 😀
Anyways so I had caught a bit fo a cold last weekend so it was hard to get stuff done before I began packing but I was all moved by midday on Sunday. I hadnt been to bed the night before coz my da is a maniac and wanted to do the first trip down at 1am in the morning, the second was at 7am…..I cry inside just remembering. So when it was over I was exhausted but had to meet up with my mate coz I am borrowing her airbed till I have a chance to buy a new one. We met at 2pm and hung out for a bit. She left about 4:15pm. I showered, blew up the bed and by 4:45 I was laying in bed falling asleep.
I think that night I woke at midnight.
Thats basically set the patten for the whole week, My cold has gotten progressively worse, so even though by Tuesday i was over the muscle pain of the move, I was feeling exhausted coz of my cold.
When I get home from work I would have a shower and change, sometimes eat (though usually not), then go to bed. Then I would wake up at some ungodly hour – usually before 3am, and i would eat if i hadnt before, and maybe move one or two thinsg around, or put some clothes away before having to stop because doing just that wore me out again.
Anyways so its the weekend now, so i can rest a bit but i do need to get some stuff. I definately need a washing basket and a bright lamp coz the lights in the main room are kinda dim – i am blind as a bat and i dont relish the idea of sitting on the side of the bath any time I need to read something….
I need a bed and sofa but will ahve to wait a bit for those (and parentals have been talking about buying bed for me, but we will see…).
But yes – I now live in the city, on my own! WOO!
Must try not to let my laziness/untidiness take too big a hold.
Oh and I shall have a whinge about Telstra now. 😀
I am not an unreasonable person, I know things take time. This net junkie has done her best to be patient. And I am still being paitient but stupidness annoys me.
I called them last Friday (Apr 29th) to get fone and internet connected to my new place, Dude was very nice and and said someone would call me back within 2 business days to follow up. So I waited till Wednesday and hadnt heard anything so I rang again.
First person I spoke to said I was in the system but something had gone wrong so she would transfer me to some dude in connections (or something). Next dude says there is a problem but he cant see what but there is a message on the screen saying to transfer customer to a certain number if they are unhappy. I wasnt unhappy – just wanting to know where things were at because I had heard nothing. He transfers me to this number and i talk to this chick with I think an Indian accent for less than 2 mins and she says she will escalate my prob and someone would get back to me within 1 day. Fine – whatevs.
Thursday passes – nothing. I wait till 2pm on Friday and call back.
First girl i speak to looks in system and says that they hadnt got me past the credit check step – she did that and voila, my application moved forward a step. The other peeps didnt see this to fix it? O.o
She then transfered my to someone else to get the next bit happening. Another girl with a wacky accent (wasnt Indian sounding though….I understand Indian accents – could barely understand this girl) who talked to me for 2 seconds said she was escalating it to a case manager and they would call me back before 6pm.
Dude did and it seems something is wrong with my line and a technician has to come out and look at it. But not till NEXT Friday! WAH!!!
So to stick it to Telstra I went out and bought one of those prepaid mobile broadband usb things from Vodafone to get online for a bit this week….and odds are once the fone line is working there will probably be dramas setting up the adsl too. I am just lucky that way!
