i really feel our american office is full of geniuses.
international company. offices all over the planet. living in different time zones doncha know….
an important part of the business is web based. this goes down when they have planned maintenance or sometimes (according to them) jobs run on other parts of the system – i will comment on that bit later.
wouldnt it be a clever idea for all computer maintenance jobs – that may bring down the system – to be run on SATURDAY NIGHT!?! Sunday night in the US is Australia and New Zealands, Taiwan and Japans (not sure if we have any other Asian offices) morning/afternoon. so if things go down we cant work.
if staff schedule a demonstation on Monday for our clients that teaches them how to use the web based product and it goes down – well they’re fucked. they have to reschedule and have a bunch of pissed off people who have organised their day around the demonstration – also money has been wasted on the plane flight interstate for that staff member. do america care? i think not.

what pisses me off more – is i call them to tell them there is a problem and they try and fob me off saying something else is affecting it – when i know they are feeding me bullshit. this morning when i called – their excuse was a job is running on another part of the system so they had to disable stuff because of that. 1) i know that particular job doesnt get run till 2:30pm sydney time, 2) if they were running that job then the girls over where i used to work would be bitching at me to call america about THAT because their computer program they use wouldnt be working. LIARS!!!!! THEY ARE LIARS!!! AND IDIOTS!!!!!!!! THEY ARE GIVING ME THE SHITS!!!!!!!!

oh – and check this – my email:

Could you find out if it will be up soon?
I was just told one of our staff is giving a talk on *** to about 80 people in half an hour so its fairly urgent.
