I was just listening to the radio before and i caught maybe half of this song – and through it there was this guy talking. it sounded like he was at a dinner party and one of the people at the dinner party – Clive (that i think wrote a column in a paper or maybe a magazine) had said he was going to kill himself and most of the other people were fawning over him and sharing their stories about how they almost killed themselves blah blah blah.
there was another person at the dinner part y that i assumed was a bloke called paddy, but could in fact have been a chick called patty – it was hard to tell, and after clive told a story about how his uncle killed himself by tying a long piece of some sort of rope thing to a telegraph pole and then tying it to his neck and getting in a car and accelerating away and that he had helped his uncle do it – then told them that story was bullshit and he wasnt going to kill himself and paddy hit him with the bowl that had the oysters in it.
then clive crawled into the other room and the narrator followed him and they found a coiled thing of the same stuff he said his uncle had killed himself with and the narrator helped him tie the knots and then the narrator went back into the party and told everyone about an hour later that he had helped clive and then paddy hit him.
and it was just so odd that i started giggling at the end. does anyone know the song and who sings it?
[ edit in 2012 ] if anyone has a burning desire to know – the track is called Suicide Journalist by Chris Morris.
