My opinion is Work For the Dole is not going to work for certain people at all.
I had to do Work For the Dole at the beginning of this year. I had been on the dole for over a year, but last year i was studying part time so that and looking for two jobs each fortnight (except for when they made me do Mutual Obligation at the beginning of the year – 3 days of TAFE a week, plus looking for 8 jobs a fortnight was rather painful!).
Anyways – I did 3 weeks of Work For the Dole before I got a job. I haven’t been an outdoor girl since i was about 11. Me – out in the sun fr more than an hour in one sitting? Get real!!
But there were guys there who had started their third time doing Work For the Dole, and would probably continue to return in future. They also looked like the kind of guys who would have a lot of trouble getting employed properly. Dumb ass government.

But the evil scheme did galvinate me into getting myself a job, which spawned another, which makes me feel right proud when i get to say to people “I have two jobs!”
